Positioned along the edge of the site, the house is quietly anchored against a backdrop of protected woodland to the west. Its form steps naturally into the slope of the land, creating a three-storey composition where the sub basement level opens directly onto the garden. The Internal Flow

Ashcombe House is organised around a vaulted family and dining area, a dramatic social heart that draws light deep into the plan while establishing a sense of scale and generosity. This space flows outward towards terraces that step down into the garden, reinforcing the connection  between house and landscape. Floor-to-ceiling glazing dissolves the boundary between inside and out, creating moments of stillness and immersion within the natural surroundings. Throughout, materials and finishes have been chosen to complement the woodland setting, with a palette of soft tones, natural textures, and precise detailing. Architecture + Interior Vision

The principal architectural volume is defined by clean, contemporary lines and a confident yet understated geometry. Glazing is arranged to capture light and frame views outward, allowing the woodland to become an ever-present backdrop. The overall massing is deliberately simple, softened by subtle shifts in form and level that create depth, variation, and a sense of dialogue with the land.
